…the feel of Love in the body. What does that evoke for you?
When I consider my own ongoing relationship with Love, it starts with relationship with others. When I was a child, the feeling of Love felt like mom’s approval and her holding me. It felt like being safe and warm, kind of small and nestled into her.
Years on, it was still ignited by another — the gaze and touch of my lover. Hearing his voice tell me that he loves me, feeling his lips and hands on me. Unwinding, opening. Recollecting the sensation in the body, my mind goes to the feeling of those orgasms. Unencumbered, or like a fizzy champagne feeling in my limbs, a feeling of general weightlessness floating, ease.
What I see ensued was a dependence on an other; as though love depended on another person in some kind of relationship or validation. I think a lot of us get it wrong in this way.
We focus on The Other, as though they are responsible or necessary for Love to be present. What if we could experience The Other as the co-creator to finding the Gateway to Love? Meaning, it isn’t…
