As a Woman, I Was Taught to Loathe Myself

Misogyny cemented itself within me in the days after my mother gave birth to my youngest sister. I was 10 years old.

Back then, birthing people were in the hospital for 5 days post-partum. lt was a block away from where we lived so I could walk over and visit her without my father.
